Ubisoft DRM too?

So it seems that Ubisoft is following EA and using DRM similar to Spore's (and Crysis Warhead's, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky's) on its upcoming title Far Cry 2. Which sucks. I don't care if I am never going to have to install the game more than five times, I DON'T WANT TO BE TOLD HOW I AM ALLOWED TO PLAY MY GAMES. And while we're at it, I don't want to have to validate my games online, and I don't want to have SecuROM installed on my computer.

Exams Are Over

I just finished my last midterm (for awhile) yesterday, so that equals a bit more free time for me, which equals a bit more cartooness for Markups . Today we have all of my pent up anger against my Blackberry Curve manifested as a cartoon. It's a great phone, and I love it, but it does tend to freeze, and lag, and turn off randomly in the middle of phone calls occasionally.

Stick Jesus

After a bit of a lull in cartoonage over at Markups , we are back in business with a new cartoon I came up with after finding myself applying Sun Tzu's great work to my RTS game strategy. And later this week I should have a new cartoon out featuring none other than Stick Jesus Himself. Good stuff. Also, I recently finished Crysis Warhead and feel the need to give my opinions.

It Was Midnight Blue, not Purple

After trying a whole lot of crap to fix the whole Internet Explorer inconsintency, I finally just decided to update the whole look of the website and hopefully resolve the problem as a side benefit. And luckily it worked. So, yeah, this is the new website. Umm, feel free to use Internet Explorer or whatever. Markups received a few new cartoons during this barren period of IE problem fixing. They're pretty awesome, check 'em out.

Website Updates

So Markups got a new cartoon last night making fun of a popular topic of late: Our impending doom at the hands of the LHC. Another cartoon that vaguely relates to aliens is currently in the works and should be out sometime this weekend. Assuming the dudes at CERN don't start creating any black holes between now and then. I also have become aware of yet another formatting issue involving this here blog.

Back in A^2

After a lot of carrying heavy things and screwing with computers (not to mention a particularly uncomfortable flight), I am finally settled into my new dorm at the U of M. Still haven't gotten Ubuntu to position itself correctly on my desktop connected to a Vizio LCD as a monitor, but at least it still works on my laptop. Both this blog and Markups have been slightly adjusted size wise after I realized that not everyone keeps their display at a 1920x1200 resolution like I do.

One Day Left!

Where has the summer gone? And what am I doing on a computer on my last full day left in Las Vegas??? I guess I'll just count this as easing myself into Michigan again as I prepare to take EECS 280. Anyways, Markups got a nice new makeover. Yeah, I can't help myself, I come up with a completely new and better design for my websites every couple of weeks. Also, The Electronics Handyman website should be closing down here pretty soon.

Launched

That's right, Markup Cartoons is officially online. It's also currently sporting a few new cartoons courtesy of me, and a fancy search and random function courtesy of ohnorobot.com . Now I just need to work on the slightly lacking favicon that pales in comparison to the beauty of the "Mc" favicon on this site. And once I get that beast out of the way I'll start slaving away at the cartoons, so expect those to start multiplying pretty soon.

New Look

Did you notice? Yeah, the site got a much needed makeover. Check out that finger trap/navbar to the left, pretty fancy. Other than a few minor changes, this should be the layout for a while, so now I can quit worrying about design and focus more on just writing entries themselves. And the webcomic. Sweet.

One Week Left!

My flight back to Ann Arbor is only a week away as of today... I can't wait to be back in Ann Arbor, but I'm also going to miss all this free time! I don't think my websites will be neglected horribly, but my video games definitely will be... And the fact that I will be reunited with my desktop makes it twice as bad. I'm really going to miss Anthem skatepark too, and vert skating in general!
